oe Flannery, Administrator of Patriots Colony, and residents Lou and Nancy Bjostad share a common past: they've all been a part of the community since its inception five years ago. "I have plenty of friends here at Patriots Colony," says Joe, "and we've done a lot in five years."
Joe speaks fondly of residents, acknowledging their devotion of time and resources to the Williamsburg area. "We have a large number of people who volunteer for various organizations throughout the area. Patriots Colony has certainly added quite a bit of talent to the community."
The positive perceptions of this special community are shared by residents who helped found it. "I was on the original board and living unhappily elsewhere," remembered Lou Bjostad, who moved into his apartment five years ago. Not long after, he met his neighbor, Nancy, who became his wife after a Patriots Colony courtship.
The Bjostad's wedding in 1998 was celebrated by the entire community. "It was a marvelous affair," commented Nancy, "I was so busy greeting friends that I barely had a chance to sample Franz Egger's creations!" The Bjostads are especially delighted by the extraordinary dining available at Patriots Colony. They agree it's no fun to eat out anymore. "The food is on par with a fancy hotel or cruise ship," said Lou. "We're just not happy when we dine at a restaurant which is not as lovely as this," added Nancy.
