Chorus, and takes advantage of wellness opportunities by working out in
the fitness room. Beth participates in water aerobics classes.
Further, the Scherers have had numerous opportunities to explore
Williamsburg. “It’s a wonderful place for children
and grandchildren to visit,” said Beth, who has toured the
historic area many times since her arrival.
Like many new residents of Patriots Colony,
Wally and Beth raved about the food and service in the dining room.
“We spent about 75% of our time in the Air Force
overseas,” said Beth, “so when we say the staff is
outstanding and the food is excellent, we have plenty of
comparisons.” The Scherers appreciate the
casual attire for dining, the atmosphere, and the waited table service.
The Scherers were considering other
communities that were also building freestanding homes during their
search for a place to retire. But after visiting Patriots Colony
twice, they were convinced. “The ambience was apparent from
the first time we drove through the gate,” said Beth. She
continued, “It’s something you just feel. The people
here are so friendly. Our social life is fantastic and
we’ve never been busier.”
