Value of a Lifecare Community
A Lifecare Community is a popular choice among today's seniors. And for many reasons. University of Akron Professor Dr. Harvey Sterns and doctoral student Sandra Carmela-Miller looked into "why" in a study that included over 1,000 older adults. Their results confirmed that residents of Lifecare communities worry less about their future and feel more secure than those living in the greater community.
Further comparisons between Lifecare residents and others showed that:
- Lifecare residents are less concerned about failing health.
- Lifecare residents are less likely to worry about health-related costs or needing to move because of health reasons.
- Residents of the Lifecare communities are less worried about losing their independence.
- Lifecare residents are more comfortable with their community's safety.
